Honey's story
Honeys story with us began on December 30th of last year when we met a very pregnant Honey on a trip to Ripley. As we looked around at all the dogs that day, a gentleman came in to check on her. This man saw Honey digging out a little den for herself in a tree trunk, she was trying find a spot to have her puppies. But with temperatures in the single digits, he knew none of them would survive long like that, so he called animal control.
As the story goes with all of our dogs, a foster said yes and we were able to get her. Honey was carried out to the car, taken on a quick trip to vet and then off to the fosters home. By the end of that day, Honey had delivered all 9 puppies in the safety of a home. She proved to be an excellent momma, nursing her 9 puppies until they were old enough to find homes of their own.
Honey is everything that we adore about adult dogs. Having lived through enough excitement to last a lifetime, she is perfectly content with a cozy spot on the couch. She will play with the other dogs in her foster home, but doesnt need that constant entertainment to be happy. Shes trustworthy around the house and would content to be that smiling face to greet you after a long day. Honey just finished up heartworm treatment and is looking for her perfect family.
