Baby Domestic Shorthair Adult Female in Memphis, Tennessee

My story
Baby's previous owner was an elderly gentleman.

He had an emergency and had to be taken to the hospital.

He stayed at the hospital more than a month and then had to go into a nursing home.

No one knew Baby existed.

The man's family donated the contents of his home to a sister canine rescue to be sold off.

When that rescue showed up and found Baby after six weeks alone in that house living off toilet water and rodents, she was in very bad shape.

They immediately took Baby to a local vet to get care.

Since they were a canine rescue, they contacted Purrs & Wags and we took in Baby.

When she came to us she weighed only 4 pounds and most of her fur had fallen out from lack of nutrition.

We worked diligently with Baby and she has blossomed into a gorgeous tabby girl that is now a little on the "chunky monkey" side as her foster mom calls her. Her time alone in that home was traumatic for her. She was very shy at first but that is no longer the case.

She is not a cat that likes to be picked up but will be in your lap wanting affection within 15 seconds of you sitting down.

She has come such a long way from that distressed scared kitty.

She deserves a wonderful loving home.Baby is up to date on her vaccines, Fiv/FeLv negative, and our vet found a spay scar. She is in a foster home with a small dog and other cats, with no problems, She is stand offish, at first, with other cats but tends to hide instead of being an aggressor. After she decides she's in no danger, she is very social with the other cats.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Baby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
