GEORGE is a happy soul in every since of the word. He is as friendly as the Walmart greeter and always seems to have a smile on his face. He is best buds with the little girl in his foster home. GEORGE is beyond excellent with other dogs! He gets along with all ages and sizes. He is thrilled play with those who want to play but will also walk away happily from pups who aren't interested in playtime. He shares his foster home with an older lab girl named Danni. GEORGE is just fine letting Danni be the boss.
GEORGE loves toys and sunning in the back yard. He is endlessly affectionate and ALWAYS down for some serious snuggle time! He is fabulous in the car and would be thrilled to travel anywhere. He knows not to potty in the house and is crate trained as well. GEORGE is the perfect combo of lab kindness and boxer goofiness. You simply cannot make this happy go lucky guy mad. Veterinarians estimated his age at 2 (we think he could be a little younger) and he is 65 lbs of adorableness. GEORGEs forever family is hitting the doggie jackpot with this handsome fellow.
GEORGE is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccines.
He doesn't live with kitties currently, but we are happy to do cat introductions for an approved applicant.
His $490 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and cost of transport to the Midwest after he is adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com). For our Midwest adoptions we use Sarah Helzerman (a private transporter) and Road Home Pet Transport (/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
